About the Role
The Sr Systems Engineer position involves support of internal IT servers and implementation of new technologies and projects. Additional duties include involvement with security operations such hardening security posture and implementing security best practices. Operational support includes involvement in production down situations where the return of service such as Active Directory functionality to operational status is vital. Other tasks include performing preventative maintenance and implementing new technologies to support business needs. In addition, the candidate must be willing to perform a wide variety of duties in addition to the primary systems engineer role including assisting other IT personnel or IT environments. The candidate will need to work collaboratively across internal departments such as Development, Client Services, Sales, Professional Services Organization, Legal, Finance and Marketing. Additional responsibilities include developing and documenting technical processes and infrastructure requirements. Therefore good technical writing and communication skills are required.
What You Will Do
• Responsible for all internal and external Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructures. These include:
• Install and maintain Windows on physical servers, VMware infrastructure and public clouds (Azure and AWS)
• Domain Administrator responsibilities related in Active Directory such as Schema changes, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other AD related tasks
• Extensive knowledge of the M365 suite including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
• Experience maintaining Azure infrastructure such as vNets, VPN Gateways, WVD and other solutions.
• Maintain AD Connect synchronization, ensure healthy replication, and best practices.
• Experience demoting and promoting domain controllers in a large, interconnected environment, ensuring healthy replication and best practices.
• Extensive knowledge of Azure AD including Conditional Access, Dynamic Groups, RBAC/IAM.
• Design, Implementation and maintenance of automation scripts
• Design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows Virtual Desktop infrastructure
• Optimization and maintenance of Active Director Users, Groups and Computers
• Analyze event logs and troubleshoot for issues, performance tuning for health monitoring of environment
• Perform operational support and break/fix resolution
• Routine maintenance and security patching
• Manage and monitor IT ticket log for open/existing problems and resolutions
• Security Operations duties and responsibilities
• Perform operational support and break/fix resolution
• Routine maintenance and security patching
• Perform infrastructure hardening and vulnerability assessments
• Analyzes security logs daily for threats. Recommend remediation plans.
• Work closely with the Information Security team to implement security policies and guidelines
• Engage technical vendors and support teams
• Must be available for after hours, on call work as needed, and for break-fix scenarios

What You Will Need
• Expert knowledge of Azure AD, Windows ADDS, DNS and DHCP
• Daily experience managing and administering M365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Security)
• Expert knowledge of AD Connect and Azure AD
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server administration
• Proficiency with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Must have 7+ years hands on experience as a systems administrator
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems
• 7+ years of hands on IT operations experience as a systems administrator/engineer
• Willing to learn and update skills/education
• Ability to work on several projects, self-manage priorities and deadlines
• Must have the ability to work with other colleagues and peer groups
