About the Role

The Data Engineer is a core member of our data team, responsible for building and maintaining the systems that move, organize, and make sense of data across the business. In this role, you'll design and implement the pipelines, architecture, and frameworks that ensure data is accurate, accessible, and scalable. You'll serve as the technical backbone of our data operations, enabling the team to deliver trusted, high-quality data that powers analytics, reporting, and decision-making at every level.
As part of the data team, you'll work closely with Analytics Engineers and cross-functional partners to ensure our data warehouse and pipelines are performant, maintainable, and well-documented. You'll play a key role in shaping how we acquire, store, and manage enterprise data across internal corporate departments.
What You Will Do
*    Design and implement robust ELT pipelines using Fivetran, Snowflake and orchestration tools
*    Build scalable data models and warehouse structures that support analytics and reporting needs
*    Write, test, and maintain SQL scripts and Python code for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration
*    Manage Snowflake environments, including performance tuning, warehouse optimization, and schema design
*    Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to develop reusable dbt models, improve data accessibility, and enforce best practices
*    Establish and maintain data quality and governance standards, identifying and resolving data quality issues
*    Establish and maintain data governance standards, including RBAC, GDPR compliance, and data security policies
*    Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to ensure pipeline reliability and data quality
*    Use Git and GitLab to version-control SQL, Python, and configuration files; enforce linting and code review practices
*    Document data flows, dependencies, and architecture in GitLab to ensure transparency and reproducibility
*    Support the team in balancing scalability, security, and performance across our growing data stack
 What You Will Need
*    3 plus years' experience with Snowflake and cloud data architectures (AWS S3 experience a plus)
*    Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write complex, performant queries across multiple data systems
*    Strong Python fundamentals for scripting, automation, and data processing tasks
*    Solid understanding of data modelling, data quality principles, and data warehouse best practices
*    Proficiency in Git and version control, with experience managing pull requests and enforcing code standards
*    Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow, or similar) and ELT frameworks (dbt, Fivetran)
*    Experience working collaboratively with analytics engineers and business stakeholders in an agile environment
*    A mindset focused on scalability, maintainability, and reliability of data systems
